Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and the Celtic rock band “O’Malley’s March” will perform for President Obama at the White House tonight as part of an extended St. Patrick’s Day celebration in honor of Irish Prime Minister Edna Kenny.

First Lady Michelle Obama and first daughter Sasha will also be in attendance for the East Room reception.

Governor O’Malley will perform “South Baltimore Lullaby” a song he wrote in honor of all the immigrants from the Emerald Isle who settled in Baltimore. “Many people do not realize this, but next to New York, Baltimore received the greatest number of Irish immigrants during the Great Potato Famine,” he said.

With his buff looks, Springsteen-like delivery and wide-ranging musical talent, the two-term Maryland governor and his namesake band received a standing ovation after the Charm City show. Will O’Malley receive another standing O in DC? With his beaming smile and charasmatic personality, we’re thinking those Irish eyes will be smiling tonight when it comes time for the audience to show its appreciation.
